Gentle Yoga
This class is slow, simple, and grounding. We focus on gentle stretching and basic postures that help you feel more open and at ease. Most of the class is spent on the floor, with just a few standing poses. The breath will be your foundation as move with it and return to it often. Class ends with guided relaxation and time to fully rest.
WHO: This is a class for truly any body. We have supportive props for your use that can help you find comfort and alignment, allowing the practice to mold to your personal abilities. We give detailed instructions and offer ways that you can modify the postures so they are most beneficial to you.
Slow Flow
This class moves at a slower pace with a focus on presence and breath to balance out the ever so fast pace of daily life. The postures are linked together in a thoughtful experiential flow with the breath, giving you time to feel each shape, make self-inquiries to their benefit and ease with awareness through the transitions. Expect slow, steady movement, pauses to notice the body, and space for deep breathing. Class ends with quiet rest to encourage the body to a deeply relaxing and restorative state.
WHO: This is an all-levels practice. There will be beginner cues to support new-comers and deeper inquisitions and offerings for those ready for more.
Gentle Restore + Flow
This class
Wellness Flow Yoga
This class is about feeling good in your body and mind. A gentle, balanced practice to support your overall well-being that is welcoming to all-levels. We blend slow stretching, some strength postures and mindful movement to intentional breathing to help improve mobility, strengthen muscles, support joint health, improve circulation and create calm and peace throughout. We close the practice with a thoughtful and thorough guided relaxation so you leave feeling restored and refreshed.
WHO: A great class for newer to experienced yogis. You’ll be offered ways to modify postures and use props to make them accessible for those with limitations or just wanting to practice more gently.
Vinyasa Flow
This practice uses the breath to pace a steady flow of movement where each posture flows into the next, creating a meditative rhythm that helps build strength, balance and flexibility. As you anchor to the breath, it allows the mind to deepen its ability to focus and remain present, keeping you grounded in the perpetual moment of now. You’ll find both effort and ease in this practice. The class closes with a guided relaxation and time to rest, integrating the practice, leaving you center and refreshed.
WHO: This is typically a more challenging practice but like all of our classes at HCYC, modifications and prop use is offered to customize the practice to suit those just getting back into a movement practice or with limitations.
Mobility Chair Yoga
This class
Morning Mobility Flow
This class is about gentle movement. You will be guided to gently flow in and out of postures and to explore the range of movements in your joints to get the body moving, lubricate the joints and boost circulation. You will move through gentle stretching postures for pliability and flexibility of the muscles. Intentional yogic breathing will ground the practice and set the pace of the movement creating a deep relationship between body and mind. A guided relaxation and time for rest will end the class, giving your body time to absorb the healing benefits of the practice.
WHO: This is a great class for all levels. There can be some mild strength postures and may also challenge your balance. A great class for those who have found themselves stationary for a long period and want to get their joints and skeleton gently moving again. We offer ways to modify the postures and use prop assistance to make the practice suitable for your own strengths and limitations.
Reiki Infused Restorative
This class
Yin Yoga
This is a quiet, slow-paced practice designed to release deep tension in the body. In Yin, we focus on mainly seated positions that are held from 1 - 5 minutes. The intention is to relax the muscles so we can stretch and release the more dense tissues like the joints, bones, fascia, and other connective tissue. This style also works with the body’s energy pathways, or meridians, supporting balance and flow through the whole body system. Props are used for comfort and support so you can settle in fully. This class encourages stillness of body and mind and includes a gentle yet mindful breath. We close the practice with deep and delicious rest to leave the body feeling restored, calm, and refreshed.
WHO: EVERY body. While this is not a gentle practice it is deeply restorative and the props we use make it accessible to get around most limitations and/or injuries.
