200-hour Yoga Teacher Training.

Turning your passion for personal wellness into a service of love.

2026 - 2027 Teacher Training Program

Whether your goal is to become a yoga teacher, deepen your personal practice, or simply learn more about this remarkable tradition, this training is here to meet you where you are.

So much of what we learn and experience on our yoga mats is a preamble to living a full and healthy life. What may have started as a weekly activity to help you with some mental or physical health issues, started to benefit you in many more ways than you were expecting. You may find yourself wanting to understand the practice on a deeper level. For many people who have experienced personal growth through a dedicated practice, Yoga Teacher Training seems to be the next logical step along the way of continued expansion. Even if teaching yoga isn’t something you are drawn to do, Teacher Training is often a beautiful path to enlighten you to the many depths and practices within yoga that can not only help you grow in your practice but grow in life itself.

If this sounds familiar, then read on and see what we have to offer!

Our training will be held over six months, gathering Thursday evening - Sunday evening two weekends a month. The program is designed to give you 200 hours of study and practice into the many facets of what make up “Yoga”. Together, we'll study anatomy, biomechanics, yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, relaxation practices, teaching methodology, and the history of yoga. We'll spend time with foundational texts such as the Yoga Sutras and Hatha Yoga Pradipika while also exploring modern research that helps explain why these practices can have such a powerful effect on our bodies, minds, and overall well-being.

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER

Debbie Parsons will be your main guide through this journey. Debbie has been teaching yoga since May 2007 and has over 10,000 teaching hours through classes, workshops, teacher trainings and retreats. Her path has been deeply influenced by Integral Yoga, the teachings of Swami Satchidananda, and Kripalu Yoga, as taught by Michael Carroll/Yoganand. She also loves helping people connect the dots between the ancient teachings and what we now understand through modern science and medicine. Many practices that once seemed mysterious are now being studied through neuroscience, physiology, psychology, and other newer fields of research. All of these influences are woven throughout the training and continue to shape the way Debbie practices and teach today.

A deep passion for Debbie has been working with a population that is newer to yoga. This experience has taught her the importance of presenting yoga in a way that is practical, understandable, and accessible while still honoring the depth of the tradition. This will also be a re-occurring theme throughout the training. When one can address the needs of a beginner practitioner, one can teach to many others as well.

This is HCYC’s inaugural Teacher Training program so we are limiting the class size to only SIX participants. With this intimate class size you can expect to receive personalized attention and a unique bonding experience with the other attendees.

To be accepted you must have had a consistent yoga practice for at least six months. You must be able to attend ten out of the twelve sessions and complete ALL make up work for any of the sessions you missed. You must attend a minimum of ten yoga practices outside of the training hours as well as other outside assignments and practices that will be required. Expect to receive personalized attention and a unique bonding experience with the other attendees.

Whether you choose to teach or simply continue your journey as a student, we hope this training helps you develop a deeper appreciation for yoga, a stronger connection to your practice, and a better understanding of why these teachings have stood the test of time.
